We are seeking to fill a Mid-level Software Engineer position that will assist our Information Systems team with the development of innovative software products that process energy efficiency rebates on behalf of our clients. This unique position is perfect for individuals with technical prowess that want to have an impact on energy efficiency markets and greenhouse gas reductions through our work for major California and Nevada utility companies, the California Public Utilities Commission, and other national leaders in energy efficiency.
Collaborating with Information Systems team to create technical and functional project requirements
Reviewing functional requirements and creating implementation specifications
Designing, developing, documenting, and implementing Internet-based applications
Reviewing work procedures to ensure effectiveness and efficiency
Establishing and maintaining high quality test procedures
Identifying system deficiencies and recommending practical solutions
A bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science and 3-6 years of relevant experience, or master’s degree in a related field. Candidates exhibiting 5 or more years of work experience using related technologies are also encouraged to apply.
Python/Django experience preferred, but experience in similar object-oriented languages and frameworks will be considered
Experience with relational databases including MySQL, SQL, postgreSQL, Oracle or similar
Data visualization capability a plus
Energy related professional experience is a plus
Persons filling this position can choose to work from either our Northern California office in downtown Oakland or our Southern California office in Orange, CA (current Long Beach Office moves to Orange in April 2016). Compensation is commensurate with experience and competitive with the industry.
